If anyone else is interested in trying to get modernized seats for our 200s, I’ve inquired with Oregon Aero about some thinner new style seats that would mimic the seats in modern aircraft. This would reduce the girth and thickness of our seats, giving upwards of 4″ more total room fore-aft. A couple inches top-of-seat-to-yoke distance and seatback-to-panel distance would help me. It would also have the same effect in the back (2″ more headroom and kneeroom!). Anyway, as an individual it was quite cost prohibitive and having certification and production cost hurdles, I am not the one to undertake this … however, perhaps if many of us would be interested in 2-4″ extra cabin space, let’s make a quorum and see what it would take to get ’em made up! Comments? Hope to make it out to a fly-in and meet everyone one of these days (now that I’m retired, it is more likely to finally happen!)
