HI from Germany, I have the same problem. No significant leakage but still a mess after flight.
We will try again and report.

Did the cable break or is it just bound up? If it’s bound up, the process is to remove it, hang it up from the ceiling and pour Kroil penetrating oil into it, until it’s leaking out the bottom. Let it stay there for several days before reinstalling.
Also, regular checking of the elevator trim prior to each flight will also help keep it unb…[Read more]

Yes, the Airwolf is mounted on the firewall. I’ve heard good things about it. My only concern is a hose failure would be catastrophic.
With regards to the F&M (now owned by Tempest), I used one on my IO-520 for years. The only time I had an issue is when a new mechanic would not understand the requirements.
First is that each time the a…[Read more]

I’d definitely pick the Garmin over the King. The KLN 94 is old, clunky and slow compared to the newer Garmin 175.
Also, figure that any of these companies will likely only support their GPS products for 10 years or less after production ends. Production on the KLN 94 has been out of production for a while now, so the clock is ticking. And, t…[Read more]

Did they get lost or break? We lost the ball we had, ordered an entire bag of them! I don’t have the spring though.

The Meyers 200 does have electric trim available as an option when installing the Century autopilots such as the 2000. And, it’s been installed in the latest Garmin installation just last month.
Peter, your plane originally had the Brittain autopilot correct? The Century A/P is a very different installation since its servos are electric instead…[Read more]

The challenge of any other avionics shop doing this is their local FSDO approving it. Stein is a very large and professional avionics shop that goes above and beyond when doing avionics installations. This includes full wiring diagrams, so other places can do repairs or upgrades far easier. This is just one of the reasons why they’re able to get…[Read more]

Hi Ashley, I’m with Ed, what is that gonna set you back? I would love to get a GFC500. Heard nothing but extreme happiness from users. Where is Stein and is Stein the only folks that could do 337 field approval? If someone did it, can another region get away with it without copying their installation process exactly? Definitely an exciting…[Read more]

Sounds like a good possibility to me. I would certainly be game. I am still in the market to upgrade my whole panel as well. Should have done it already, but had a severe six-figure water damage issue in my condo and needed to stand back for a while. We’re starting to recover from that and should get onto this avionics upgrade situation again…[Read more]

Here in Europe there are a lot of short grass runways.
Getting the Meyers down is easy in my opinion.
Takeoff performance depends on the usual factors: actual mass, wind and temperature. I have a IO 520, so power could be better. To get best climb out you need to fly with Vx over the trees and then accelerate to Vy while cleaning up. I find it…[Read more] -

I sold 2983T in June but still plan to drive to the Fly In at Fredricksburg. I plan to bring a few rare 200 parts for the auction. They include two landing light lenses, a pair of door hinges, and a set of landing gear torque links. The money from these parts will go to the Meyers Aircraft owners association.

Gary,
The high pressure seal double seal I mentioned above is actually called an O-ring loaded U-cup seal. It is a harder rubber up with a softer O-ring inserted to push the cup against the shaft. The McMaster part number is 9505K15. I believe this is the seal that was in my flap selector and gear valves, but the harder rubber cup was…[Read more]
