Hi Barry. What’s the problem and are you talking about the Elevator Trim? If it’s just really stiff, the easiest solution is to lube the control, starting at the cable right behind the panel. Start with SeaFoam DeepCreep and then use LPS spray.
If you’re talking about the Aileron Trim then it may be just the spring. that need replacing. They’re…[Read more]

Does anyone have experience in servicing or repairing the fuel tank switch? I’m having some issues with it.

Joe,
Based on my experience this is an important modification. I lost throttle control during taxi for take off as a result of a screw that pulled out of its threads. This strew attaches a bracket for the throttle cable connection at the back of the engine. The screw was also nearly worn through. It is intended to allow a certain amount of…[Read more]

As I was replacing my battery this weekend, I noticed that there was a component attached in series to a circuit connecting both sides of the master relay that had degraded into a snowball.
It looks like an old style ceramic capacitor, about an inch and quarter long. Also included in the curcuit is (perhaps) a diode, and a fuse.
Someone…[Read more]

Dean, I’m ordering some other stuff from Aircraft Spruce, so I figured I’d order the wing root fillet. is it listed as the beechcraft wingroot seal (http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/doorseals4.php?clickkey=4626)?

I’m working on an updated version of the Meyers 200 Maintenance Manual and one thing we seem to be missing is an electrical system schematic. Does anyone have a copy of this?

The A’s and B’s originally came with an IO-470 and had a lower VNE. In order to upgrade them to an IO-520a or IO-550f, there are stringers that need to be added to the empennage. And, once the additions are made, the VNE is increased to 236 mph. There are quite a few A and B owners who’ve upgraded their planes to both the IO-520a and IO-550f and…[Read more]

That’s very troubling about Cee Bailey. I bought windows and windshields from them only a few years ago and didn’t have any issues.
As for the rear windows, be sure they know that you have a D model as even those windows are different than in the A’s and B’s.
Find out what the tooling costs will be and perhaps we can spread those costs over…[Read more]
