<p>The high pressure seal double seal I mentioned above is actually called an O-ring loaded U-cup seal.  It is a harder rubber up with a softer O-ring inserted to push the cup against the shaft.  The McMaster part number is 9505K15. All are common O-rings available thru Aircraft Spruce, except the internal gear handle valve and flap selector valve. <p>So very happy to hear the damage was minimal given your scenario.  Thank you for the additional information.  I’m guessing the strut extended slightly once the gear was in the well to force the tire against the bail and cause it to bind.  A very unusual situation to be certain.</p>

<p>A broken gear handle Uplock cable will be apparent because without the Uplock released, the gear UP red light will stay illuminated.  Basically one red, two green would indicate the Uplock did not release on the gear indicating red. <p>Try entering the pattern, or doing closed patterns by reducing power to 15” MP once you’ve reached your downwind altitude (should be ~120 mph), then at midfield put the gear down, which should slow you to about 100 mph, then add 20 flaps abeam your touchdown point and reduce power to just above idle. The airplane can be very tight for someone who is 6-8.  My 6-9 friend can’t fit in either seat, but he has long legs that won’t fit under the dash or around the controls.  Also, the gear handle is very close to my right knee (I’m 6-0) and may be an issue if you have long legs. <p>Last year I updated 2919T with Garmin 530WAAS, 2x G5s, 330ES, and 255 NAV/COM.  I was able to purchase refurbished 330 and 530, new G5s and 255.  All of these worked well with my older Garmin Audio panel. <p>The feel tanks are welded aluminum and may be easily removed from the aircraft (given a little patience and dexterity).  The hardest part is disconnecting the fuel lines.  I have a few I tunes I can send of the 4 tanks out of the aircraft so you may see the shape and fittings, if you are still interested.
