Ed Pulliam replied to the topic Century 2000 Control Yokes in the forum Flight Controls – Meyers 200 1 year, 9 months ago

Dusty-that’s interesting. The yokes on 196M were replaced before I acquired her with the Bonanza yokes per the 337. The autopilot is a Century III. So the 2000 install required you to turn the yokes upside down??

Ed Pulliam replied to the topic New A&P in the forum Meyers 200 2 years, 2 months ago

Brent-meant to have responded last week. These old girls are reasonably approachable for most A&P’s with some experience in 1960’s birds like Comanches or Debonairs. My A&P did a FWF engine for me in 2017 and replaced all the hoses as well. Some gray hair is needed though IMO. If all they have been wrenching have been 172’s or Warriors, might…[Read more]

Cole-my mechanic last summer told me the filters were on back order. Lucky for me, he had one. You might call Brackett and see what CS tells you. And certainly Aircraft Spruce, etc.

Even bigger fake on WX. Going to be 84’F in NC on Thursday. Trees and plants are very confused…

My gear door issue was satisfactorily resolved and they were also able to re-weld the wing walk support on the wing inside of the flap. I dare say a lot of our fleet has busted wing walk supports. I don’t think it is an AW issue, but more of a…[Read more]

Thomas-My understanding is the fuel flow set-up is not overly complex for the person who understands it and has done it. Who in Germany have you used in the past? Wonder if you might find a YouTube that might show it?

One thing to make sure is that you adjust your fuel flow at wide open throttle at sea level to be 10% of your rated HP. So on…[Read more]

That is great news Rocky. And pics of the E to share? Does it include the turbo prop engine or are you going to have to source it?

Ed Pulliam replied to the topic N418 in the forum Meyers 200 2 years, 7 months ago

Some thoughts given the age of the engine and my experience:

My C model had a 72 Factory reman IO-520. It crapped the bed 6 years ago with a lite case and non-VAR crankshaft-the most logical solution was a factory reman. Not sure what the 73 looks like but a R&R with a factory reman is probably $55-60K if not higher if you do a prop IRAN,…[Read more]

Thanks Rocky. I hope it goes to someone who intends to get her flying again. They are too nice, and too rare, to be rotting away.

I have the same problem, but my A&P thinks it is related to the linkage to the governor. Like it is not long enough to get that extra 100 RPM and will need some modification. I am going to address over the winter.

Well, that was not my intent, but glad you did not spend money on something that was not approved.

I saw the note on your exhaust valve. That’s THE reason for borescopes.

Thomas-that looks like a good solution to deal with the older ones we have as they go bad. Any idea how the STC would work?
