I am sending an IA to evaluate. I may bid on it. Not sure when the South African plane will make it to Georgia, but deal is done.
Might as well have two. If some one else is interested, i will defer on 418.
Will, post evaluation here.October 10, 2022 at 11:54 am #2515Theodore DrydenParticipantOnce i saw this airplane on facebook i popped right over here to check for any discussion. Tempting, just not in a position to go after this airplane. I hope you get it! Will they let the IA borescope the engine?
October 10, 2022 at 10:51 pm #2516Stan MongerParticipantI definitely have an interest in the airplane and considering bidding. I would be very interested to hear what your IA has to say. Thanks for sharing!
It seems with a relatively high time engine and those vintage avionics a guy could get upside down pretty quickly.October 11, 2022 at 4:58 pm #2517Rocky RoquemoreParticipantIA said paint very good, needs rubbing out.
Interior excellent
Engine seems good, compressions all good.
He gave plane a thumbs up.
Given engine time and avionics.
I thing 50k plus the vig is my choke point.
I have made a deal on Mike Hofmans plane from South Africa. I expect it here in Georgia before Christmas, if i were to buy 418 ,i would keep the better airframe and sell the other.
I have ordered dual G3x , gfc 500, 750, 650 remote ads-b in/out so ready to get upside down either way.October 11, 2022 at 8:02 pm #2518Rocky RoquemoreParticipantVref says 55,650. About what i am thinking.
It will likely bring more.October 11, 2022 at 11:30 pm #2520Stan MongerParticipantThanks for the information Rocky! Yes, that’s about what I was thinking. I would love to go to a 550 also. Whatever airplane you end up with that is going to be an excellent panel! Is the GFC500 approved for the Meyers? I have one in my 182 right now and love it.
October 12, 2022 at 12:09 am #2521Rocky RoquemoreParticipantThere have been some field approvals for the 200. We plan to go that route.
Let me know if you plan to bid and i will back off.October 13, 2022 at 1:43 am #2522Ed PulliamParticipantRocky-is there a link for this bird? I would love to at least check it out. Is it an estate auction?

Plane has apparently been sitting a long time.
But the owner recently spent a good bit of money on airworthiness items in preparation for sale.October 15, 2022 at 12:15 pm #2524Ed PulliamParticipantThanks Rocky. I hope it goes to someone who intends to get her flying again. They are too nice, and too rare, to be rotting away.

October 15, 2022 at 9:19 pm #2525Rocky RoquemoreParticipantIf i buy it i will flynit.
My bet is it will not bring reserve.
50,000 is my top which would be 53,000 with commission. Maybe go to 55 including vig.
The plane cosmetically is in nice shape.October 18, 2022 at 12:59 am #2526Ed PulliamParticipantLooks like a good bird. If you guys pass let me know. I think your pricing logic makes sense.

October 26, 2022 at 11:27 pm #2528Rocky RoquemoreParticipantThey seem to think it is worth a lot more than i do. Was told the owner turned down 90k.
Meyers i think should bring more than bonanzas, but seemingly they do not.November 9, 2022 at 11:26 pm #2532Stan MongerParticipantThat escalated fast. At the current amount or more I am definitely bowing out. Good luck to anyone still in the auction.
November 9, 2022 at 11:54 pm #2533Rocky RoquemoreParticipantWell i never got in. But i am buying a surprixpse meyers
