These old girls are reasonably approachable for most A&amp;P&#8217;s with some experience in 1960&#8217;s birds like Comanches or Debonairs.  My A&amp;P did a FWF engine for me in 2017 and replaced all the hoses as well.  Some gray hair is needed though IMO. <p>My C model had a 72 Factory reman IO-520.  It crapped the bed 6 years ago with a lite case and non-VAR crankshaft-the most logical solution was a factory reman.
