Thomas Kube replied to the topic Meyers performance in the forum Engine – Meyers 200 7 years, 12 months ago

    I have a 520a.
Here in Germany 100LL is about 8$/gal, so we try to run LOP.

With my very limited experience with my plane I just did 1 longer trip of 3hr 45 min to France. In FL 85 she took 12,5 gal/h for 140kn GS. Therhe must be some improvement.

When she is back from the shop I will go for max speed ROP, Christmas is coming…

    Any more…[Read more]

Question from a newbie: How do you run your engine to get

    a) The best speed(max power) in low and high altitude?
    b) the best economy (ROP or LOP)

Doe someone have a scheme for power setting in different altitudes like some other types of POH provide or do you go by CHT and EGT.

What are you racers seeing on fuel burn on a typical race.

Richard E Russell replied to the topic Reasonable Crosswind Limitations for an OTW on pavement? in the forum Airframe – Meyers OTW 8 years ago

All: Regarding OTW landings, grass, hard surface runways and crosswinds – FAA certification of Part 23 (OTW were certified under CAR 4, the previous certification standard before FAR Part 23) is 15 mph ‘demonstrated cross wind’. Factory test pilots are required to certify all Part 23 airplanes to 15 mph crosswinds, therefore, it then depends upon…[Read more]

      Hi Richard,

      Yes I am!

I’m interested in purchasing a Meyers OTW in early December should I get a place on the Vintage Air Rally 2018 which is by no means a certainty, but I am planning on an optimistic basis!

We get notified on the 1st December and so if successful then I would be looking to purchase one in December of this year. I would also…[Read more]

    Hi,
While dismantling the cowling for new paint we found the glasses broken.

Does anybody know of a source to get spares?
    I send Joan already a message…

    Thanks,

    Hi,

I am in Florida at the moment an thinking about essentials for the Meyers to take home.
I asked globalparts to offer a set of landing gear bushings.
What else do you recommend to have in the parts-box?

    Thanks,

    Thomas

    Hi,

Does anybody know if the air Kool scoop vent from various shops fit in the pilot side window?

Would be nice for summer and taxi.

    Thomas.

JJ is right on point – I have #93 and fly off grass mostly but I’ve also flown off pavement and there are several opinions I prefer wheel landings, e specially on hard surfaces but, like JJ, I’ve embarrassed myself occasionally. Taxiing is an issue when winds are high; I learned that my first flight in high winds in our southwest deserts. I should…[Read more]

Hi, I have it installed as my plane is SN 368, the first one not affected.
It looks exactly like the drawing.

I have a front view picture where you see it and can make details by mid September.
Please send me an email to thomas_kube@me.com as I cannot upload from my iPad.

    Cheers,

    Hello from Germany,

this is my first post to this forum.

My name is Thomas and I am in severe negotiations with Jan Ebert in order to buy D-ECDW, the only Meyers 200 in Europe.

We met Monday and had a chat about the plane and went for a demo flight.
What can I say, you know how it is: You see her and want her, you touch her and want her even…[Read more]
