									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Update: some tweaking of the idle mixture and the engine runs fine. Take off fuel flow ist 28,3 gal/h resulting in good temperatures and performance „as expected“ by us. Annual done and the weather is also improving. </p>

Had the fuel control unit overhauled here in Germany. Came back with factory settings. On run-up engine stalls below 1500 rpm. Need to setup the FCU according to SB. Did anybody venture this way before and has some knowledge to share?<br />

I will measure the low pitch angle to check for a wear of the propeller. Last overhaul was 2009 and last maintenance was 2020, lubricaction of the hub. </p>

the last annual reveiled a bad looking exhaust valve on No.3 and the guide had some blowby. Reason was a malfunctioning rotator.<br />
My engine is am Continental remanufacture from 1993 with about 550 hours on it.<br />

<p>My propeller governor is defect. I just get 2550 rpm on static or dynamic take off.</p>
<p>All the other performance data are okay.</p>
<p>I found as an alternative to overhauling the governor is to put a new PCU5000 on the engine.</p>
<p>Any recommendations from y’all?</p>

<p>I found the upper intake mount bracket broken on my plane. Caused some vibration. Fixed it but now we chase other problems, like a leaking F&amp;M adapter and a leaking valve cover.</p>

Getting the Meyers down is easy in my opinion.<br />
Takeoff performance depends on the usual factors: actual mass, wind and temperature. I have a IO 520, so power could be better. To get best climb out you need to fly with Vx over the trees and then accelerate to Vy while cleaning up. <p>Summer time has finally arrived and temperatures are increasing. My CHT on #6 is on takeoff getting to 420 degrees F despite going to 120 knots cruise climb. The other CHTs are 30-50 degrees F cooler. EGTS are about the same. Baffling is okay. Any ideas how to get this cylinder cooler?</p>

<p>I wonder of we can group up to have SteinAir go for an STC.<br />
If there is an STC, we would have less trouble getting this great AP into our planes. For me in Germany, as an EASA reg, 337s do not work. </p>
<p>And going back to N-Reg would terminate the world spanning Meyers distribution.</p>

<p>Had our local locksmith (Mr. Minit) make new ones ( 3 sets). He immediately identified them as airplane keys. Had to order them from Italy&#8230;</p>
<p>Thought the Meyers was the Jaguar of the skies, not the Ferrari.</p>

Had the hydraulics of the gear overhauled! My mechanic was impressed how well and strong manufactured the cylinders and the whole system is.</p>
<p>Does anybody know if the flaps have a different travel to compensate for engine torque? What model did you buy?<br />
If it is a D model these are the things I mention to new pilots to the Meyers:<br />
Read the manual!<br />
Check and understand the trim, it can kill you.<br />
Non differential brakes, you have to press both and then stear with the front wheel.<br />
You will need right foot on takeoff and climb.<br />

Although I do fly off grass, I just do a thorough pre-flight focused especially on the tail wheel area. It’s grear to have particular mechanics by the way!</p>

<p>They make inflatable door seals and as the door of our Meyers and that of the advertised planes is very similar the seal might work?</p>

I think may left main tank is leaking. Jan, the former owner had them all welded but the mechanic took off the upper skins of the wing. </p>

<p>I will have a look at the hydraulic fittings and may give you some data.</p>
