Hi Barry. What’s the problem and are you talking about the Elevator Trim? If it’s just really stiff, the easiest solution is to lube the control, starting at the cable right behind the panel. Start with SeaFoam DeepCreep and then use LPS spray.
If you’re talking about the Aileron Trim then it may be just the spring. that need replacing. They’re…[Read more]

Does anyone have experience in servicing or repairing the fuel tank switch? I’m having some issues with it.

I’m working on an updated version of the Meyers 200 Maintenance Manual and one thing we seem to be missing is an electrical system schematic. Does anyone have a copy of this?

The A’s and B’s originally came with an IO-470 and had a lower VNE. In order to upgrade them to an IO-520a or IO-550f, there are stringers that need to be added to the empennage. And, once the additions are made, the VNE is increased to 236 mph. There are quite a few A and B owners who’ve upgraded their planes to both the IO-520a and IO-550f and…[Read more]

That’s very troubling about Cee Bailey. I bought windows and windshields from them only a few years ago and didn’t have any issues.
As for the rear windows, be sure they know that you have a D model as even those windows are different than in the A’s and B’s.
Find out what the tooling costs will be and perhaps we can spread those costs over…[Read more]

What would you like to know about N5511M? It doesn’t seem to have any accident reports on the NTSB website. And, that’s really all I know about that particular Meyers 200.
I can offer advice and suggestions on the general information about the 200. Just ask.

Fellow Meyers 200 owner Steve Bauman has been researching the past of all of the Meyers 200s and there are a few tail numbers for which he has a photo and nothing else. Specifically, he’s looking for any information on N1888E which was also once N670E.
Additionally, I’ve been working on our master aircraft database and I’d love to be able to…[Read more]

I believe that many people use the smaller U-shaped seal on the empenage.

I have created an updated Meyers 200 Maintenance Manual. It’s a rather large though so I haven’t just posted it here yet.
I’m considering offering a link to an on-demand publisher so you can have a printed version. It would probably cost around $30. Do you think that would be helpful?

Ed,
To install the new seals do the following:
1. Take 1300 or 1300L glue and thin with MEK or Acetone to a chicken broth like consistency.
2. Brush with acid brush the contact surfaces of both the seal and airframe and let dry. Do this 3 times.
3. Measure and cut the correct amount of seal and mark the leading edge end.
4. With an acid…[Read more] -

Augusta, KS, April, 2016—Dr. Jamon Pruitt, a cardiologist from Little Rock, Arkansas, likes flying. He’ll be the first to tell you that he’s a pilot who happens to be a cardiologist—not the other way around.
