The Wright Brothers 50-year Flying Safety award for Captain Downey will be presented @ NAS National Naval Aviation Museum, Pensacola, October 10, 2019, IN the museum on the flight deck of a WWII Aircraft Carrier. Very fitting as the area is surrounded by many of the airplanes Chuck flew. Stand by for further information as the plan develops. I look forward t all Meyers airplane owners in attendance as not only will we present the Wright Brothers award to Chuck’s family but the museum will be accepting Captain Downey’s artifacts for permanent inclusion on the Navy Museum. During my meeting with the Museum today, I learned a retired Marine Pilot is from Wichita and first soled at Hutchinson, KS. Small world indeed-!
