Count me in too, Dean. Same payment plan as Mr. Young. I’d pay NOW for one to get it later if it helps prime the pump. I think that Pruitt, Atchison and Secord would also be in. Perhaps send a personal message to them.

Other options for activities at the fly-in include: kayak rentals through the hotel http://www.thirdcoastpaddling.com; dune buggy rides through http://www.saugatuckduneride.com; Norte Dame University to tour the campus, cathedral, grotto, and bookstore; and the Studebaker car museum http://www.studebakermuseum.org. Some of us have already been to the Waco Factory and Air Zoo during a previous Meyers Fly-In. Possibly there could be an alternative for those that have already been there.

We used to race each other at Fly-Ins. The late Doc Morgan usually won the “Scenic Route” award, in our long x-country (not pylon) races. For the benefit of the FAA and the insurance companies, we called them “proficiency exercises.” The most proficient pilot crossed the finish line first. One of the little secrets learned was that with a…[Read more]

@rgomoll Roger, I would advise the 5 gal. at a time method, since they’re all a little different, at least the Meyers ships. I got a 12” length of 1/2” balsa wood, added a firmly attached lanyard, and with a Sharpee labeled one face “M” (main) and the opposite face “A” (aux). Then I did the 5 gal. at a time separately fot the mains and the auxes…[Read more]

@goud9yahoo-com Doug, years ago when I owned #89, I went to a good local machinist with the worn-out part, and had one made. Short of that, try Mike Barg.

@edr Hello, Ed. Sorry to hear of your problems with the FAA medical. I still have one — I hope, actually I have an appointment with my AME this afternoon for a renewal — and did not have to sell N489C. I don’t think we own these airplanes, we’re just caretakers for the next person, and I was lucky to find Ray Ferrell, who will be just as dili…[Read more]

TruTrack is almost ready to create the STC for our Meyers 200s! In order to gauge their popularity, they’ve asked me to inquire with all the owners to see how many people would be interested in buying an all-new digital autopilot for their plane.
The cost of the autopilot will be $5,000 and installation is said to take roughly 30 hours.

Basler flight services will be providing their regular fueling services with one added twist this year. Automatic payment. Instead of having to walk to a booth and pay for your fuel you can put a card in online and it will email you the receipt for your fuel automatically. Saves time and legs. The fuels request is made by getting a propeller…[Read more]

There has been about a question about hangar space at the Fly-In…especially for the OTW’s. We do have hangar space for 3 OTW’s as of now and are working on obtaining more if needed.

If you’re not getting expected True Airspeeds, you might consider rigging the flight controls and the flaps. That can have a huge impact on performance.

Hi Mark,
The only “modern” STC’d autopilot available for the Meyers 200 is the Century 2000. It’s not cheap and can be finicky at times. If you can hold out for a while, TruTrak should have an option for us. Likely available next year. It’s a true digital autopilot with all kinds of modern features. And, at only $5,000 it’s an amazing…[Read more]

We also need a vacu-form in order to make a compound curve that the light covers have. Or, the other option is to make a clay mold of the original and then use it as a form in the oven.
