Hello everybody, I just joined a few days ago and this is my first post.
I fly helicopters for a living and I took my Airplane Private add-on flying warriors and archers.
I would love to purchase an airplane of my own to enjoy with my family and perhaps continue with instrument and commercial. I’m in the planning phase and I’m organizing my finances for a purchase early next year.
My wife is from Florida and we have two small children. We live in CT in the Hartford area and our mission would be to travel to FL once or twice a year while enjoying local flying for the rest of the year.
Based on my budget and mission requirements, I have narrowed down my research to 3 aircraft so far.
On top of my list is the Bellanca Super Viking. However, the more I read on the 200D the more I am gravitating towards it.
I have flown in the super vike and I understand what pilots mean when they say “you wear it” lol. It is tight, but thankfully I’m 5’10” and my wife is 5’2″. The upholstery, feel, maneuverability, performance, community, history and at a reasonable cost is so far unchallanged…at least so far…
I have never seen a 200D in person and I am literally dyeing to be able to sit in one and see how it feels. Like the bellanca, it’s also very difficult to come across one and I was wondering if anyone here was available to help me. Also, is there anyone with experience in the bellanca by any chance?I like this site btw, very well organized and resourceful. I love the sense of community that these flying gems bring together. It’s awesome and I can’t wait to be part of one.
Thanks guys

Thank you for replying. No worries, everyone has they’re busy life 🙂
That would be awesome.
I live in Simsbury, CT, but I’m open to traveling and my work schedule is also very flexible at the moment.
Where do you live?

Thanks for your help!
March 1, 2021 at 12:15 am #2212Joseph McDonaldKeymasterIn my search I found the super viking was too small for me, 6’1″, 275lbs… It’s fast, but so is the 200D, I went with a 200D and have enjoyed it and glad I made that decision.
If you’re ever around Auburn, AL just let me know and I’ll be happy to let you take a look and/or flight.
April 14, 2021 at 3:19 pm #2240GregParticipantThis is funny, Stefano’s description describes me almost to a T. Except I live in Huntsville. Joseph, do you think I could take you up on that offer? I’m itching to see a Meyers 200 up close.
April 15, 2021 at 12:05 pm #2241Ed PulliamParticipantIf you can get near RDU area in NC I would be delighted to show you a C model. Mostly like a D except does not have flush riveted leading edge.

Where do you visit in FL? We have several owners in the state that may be able to assist with your quest…
