    Hi,
I’m currently in the process of having N236M repainted and the paint shop was asking me if I had any specs on balancing the control surfaces (this apparently is something commonly done after painting). Thanks for any input.

Old post so not sure I should post. but yes flight control balancing is extremely important, yes it needs to be done if painted, the specs will be on the factory drawings and hopefully in the maintenance manual.
an improperly balanced flight control could flutter, and that can easily lead to a fatal accident, in flight break up kind.

    Hi guys
The flight controls on the Meyers 200 do NOT need to be balanced when painted. They are controlled by push –pull rods. Aircraft that have control CABLES they are the ones that need to be balanced if painted.
    This from the FAA.
