Hi Ashley, I’m with Ed, what is that gonna set you back? I would love to get a GFC500. Heard nothing but extreme happiness from users. Where is Stein and is Stein the only folks that could do 337 field approval? If someone did it, can another region get away with it without copying their installation process exactly? Definitely an exciting…[Read more]

Sounds like a good possibility to me. I would certainly be game. I am still in the market to upgrade my whole panel as well. Should have done it already, but had a severe six-figure water damage issue in my condo and needed to stand back for a while. We’re starting to recover from that and should get onto this avionics upgrade situation again…[Read more]

Currently the Trio Pro Pilot will fly a GPS course line, and if ATC says fly 270, you can dial in 270 into the autopilot and it will fly that “heading” until you let it intercept the previous course.
Also they are in he last stage of getting STC approval to interface with Aspen and G5 EFIS with AV-30 and Skyview in R&D to follow. This will the…[Read more]

I saw that the STC Group had added another plane to its list of STC aircraft approved for using the Trio Pro Pilot and reached out to them about possible support of the Meyers 200 series.

They reported “We do occasionally add niche aircraft to our AML, Cessna 190/195 for example but unfortunately, we have seen…[Read more]

@dep196m Ed, spoke with Dave Smith and he removed the clip from a strut he had in storage. Thank the airplane gods for Dave ! Dont really have a part number though it seems to be a standard beveled layer clip.

Joseph-the type certificate was purchased by Global Parts Group. I am recalling an exploded nose gear schematic that might have a parts listing. The seals and O rings are stock materials. The metal parts themselves are probably not available. We have some members that might have access to certain parts. You might describe what you need in…[Read more]

Got one from Dave Smith. Oh thank heaven for Dave!

No help from global, put a couple calls in no results, Dave Smith was the savior on this one. Thanks Dave.

Ed, there is no offset in the engine mount or a trim tab on the rudder to deal with significant P-factor when you rotate with a 520 or 550. You have to somewhat snatch it into ground effect and throw in a lot of right rudder as you keep it aligned with the runway as you retract gear and take off flaps. A lot happening in a short amount of time.…[Read more]

We operated a 200a out of our 2000 ft grass strip in WI for years. We had clear approaches, a 520 engine, and a 3 blade prop. Getting in was not a problem. The 200 has a really steep approach angle and doesn’t float. Fly your numbers and hit your spot and you’ll be fine.
Getting out was a different story. If he was filling all 4 seats Dad…[Read more]

Here in Europe there are a lot of short grass runways.
Getting the Meyers down is easy in my opinion.
Takeoff performance depends on the usual factors: actual mass, wind and temperature. I have a IO 520, so power could be better. To get best climb out you need to fly with Vx over the trees and then accelerate to Vy while cleaning up. I find it…[Read more] - Load More
