I’m going to try to catch up on the name tags again at the fly-in.
If you’re coming to the fly-in and you lost or don’t have a nametag, send me an email to mark.young@gmail.com.
Heck, if you’d like a

Dusty-that’s interesting. The yokes on 196M were replaced before I acquired her with the Bonanza yokes per the 337. The autopilot is a Century III. So the 2000 install required you to turn the yokes upside down??

I’ll post an update on my install. I had a set of other work done at the time, so I don’t recall the cost of the work done specifically for the autopilot.
I previous had a century 2000 with integrated electric trim, and century altitude pre-select.
While the system was functional, I considered it a bit mickey mouse. When tuned properly, it…[Read more]

Looking forward to seeing our regular and new members in Carson City this September. My son and I plan on attending and bringing our sticks to play golf at the Eagle Valley golf course just east of our host airport. website eaglevalleygolfcourse.com. Thanks Dennis, I’m tardy in my reply. I think both Garmin and Avidyne are quite expensive in the repair/flat rate repair department. I much prefer the Avidyne overall, but it seems so few shops (that I have had contact with) will recommend or even want to sell them. Garmin definitely has the grips on the business, and I guess some folks should…[Read more]

To Ashley, and others that have done “the Mod”. Not many comments after the installations, I am hopeful for some reports from the others that have done it. How long waited, how much $$, how satisfied, any regrets/wishing for another system, etc? Just finally getting to some avionics improvements on mine, the stuff Ashley mentioned is mostly…[Read more]

Brent-meant to have responded last week. These old girls are reasonably approachable for most A&P’s with some experience in 1960’s birds like Comanches or Debonairs. My A&P did a FWF engine for me in 2017 and replaced all the hoses as well. Some gray hair is needed though IMO. If all they have been wrenching have been 172’s or Warriors, might…[Read more]
