Greg, when I sold my Archer in 2000 my partners and I bought a C 182. Picked up 15 knots plus useful load. It was prefect for the flying I was doing then. Welcome Peter. I have had the same experience as Ed. Tanks come out easily and are easily welded up if there’s a leak.

Peter, there are others more knowledgeable than I, but there are 4 separate 20 gallon metal tanks that are each connected to the fuel selector in the cockpit. It is set up as a main and aux on each wing. The fuel selector is a single selector and has a detente for each tank and one for the Off position.
