I talked with Nelson and I have bought some Cadillac 1937-1949 stainless steel 0-30 ohm fuel sending units new off ebay and going to try them in a few weeks. I will let you know.

I have had good results using Otto instruments, (Southern Ca.) It has been a few years since I have sent anything to them, but they were good then.

I have pictures of the rebuild process but I’m not sure how to upload them. Anyone able to help with this?

Tony, saw your post on the fuel sender. Did you find a new product or have the originals re-worked? I’m currently having the fuel tanks rebuilt but the fuel senders they are sending back to me as the company working on the tanks don’t touch the sender units.

I’m in the process of stripping the paint for refinishing. Not very easy I might add.
Could someone recommend a paint system? The original appears to be zinc chromate primer and enamel finish. I’ve heard that epoxy primer is an option to zinc chromate. Is this a better way to prime or should I source the zinc chromate version? Any sug…[Read more]

Has any one had their original airspeed indicator re-faced?
Mine needs the faded green and white arcs re-colored as well as some of the numbers touched up or re-done. It is very faded and yellowed.
I was going to have it rebuilt and was curious if I could have it refaced as well.
Or would you suggest simply replacing it?

Just wanted to thank all the wonderful Meyers owners I met over the weekend at the Rough River Dam Fly-in. I really enjoyed meeting all of you and having many of my endless questions answered. As a new part owner, the experience and information I received was fantastic. I only wish I could have stayed far longer, but I will look forward to the…[Read more]

Gary, the Aerocommander looks exactly like mine. Thank you.
Would you know if the autopilot disconnect switch must be incorporated into the wrap, or could a switch be added to the panel? That is if installing a new autopilot.
Thanks again,
Kevin -

There used to be an “Annual” checklist (for reference only) I am unable to locate it. Otherwise, does anyone have a PDF copy? Thanks. Kurt

I am needing to replace fuel floats/sender units. Has anyone done this? I have a part number for A/C delco part but has anyone replaced them with anything else? Part number? Where did you buy. Thanks!

Ross,
I ordered 6 Whelen A315LO lights for under the glare shield. They should hopefully be very close to the lights in the pictures you sent me.Currently I’m in the process of stripping the exterior paint. All control surfaces have been removed as well as the wings, vertical stabilizer, horizontal stabilizer, door, and front wheel bay d…[Read more]

Thank you for clearing that up for me Ross.
I have started the restoration of N413KS, previously N427VV, and would like to maintain the original interior panel lighting operation if possible. We are installing 4 Garmin GI275 replacing the DG, AI, CDI, and an EIS. As these are backlit, this leaves only the airspeed, altitude, vertical speed,…[Read more]

Keven, the glare shield is most definitely the overhang of the dashboard. The white lights would be mounted under to illuminate everything below in white light. They may have been removed by a previous owner? Hopes this helps. Ross
