Tom Thibodeau replied to the topic Actuator Seals in the forum Hydraulic System – Meyers 200 5 years, 11 months ago
I found an eCopy of the parts manual in my files and it lists the part numbers/sizes of the seals for all of the actuators except the step actuator. Does anyone have information on the step actuator?

It’s time to replace all of the O-rings/seals in all five of my hydraulic actuators. Unfortunately, my Parts Manual and CD are not readily available. Does anyone know the type and quantity of the seals for each of the actuators, and also the thread size for the fittings as I want to get plugs to seal the lines while the cylinders are removed.…[Read more]

Greg,
The airplane can be very tight for someone who is 6-8. My 6-9 friend can’t fit in either seat, but he has long legs that won’t fit under the dash or around the controls. Also, the gear handle is very close to my right knee (I’m 6-0) and may be an issue if you have long legs. I’ve heard there are those who modified the seat rail mounts…[Read more] -

Chris,
Jeff at High Desert Avionics at WJF did the install, fabulous job! Look to schedule about 6 months in advance, and it’ll take 3 times longer than promised due to demand. Worth the wait, although I did miss Benton Harbor MI and Harris Ranch CA Fly Ins …

Chris,
Last year I updated 2919T with Garmin 530WAAS, 2x G5s, 330ES, and 255 NAV/COM. I was able to purchase refurbished 330 and 530, new G5s and 255. All of these worked well with my older Garmin Audio panel. With this install, you are able to remove the air pump and pneumatic gyros since the dual G5s have batteries and provide back-up…[Read more]

Peter,
The feel tanks are welded aluminum and may be easily removed from the aircraft (given a little patience and dexterity). The hardest part is disconnecting the fuel lines. I have a few I tunes I can send of the 4 tanks out of the aircraft so you may see the shape and fittings, if you are still interested. Replacements would have to be…[Read more]

Dean,
Where is TruTrak with regard to the M200 STC? They seem to be focused on the larger market share aircraft. I’m guessing the A36, V35, M20, and C210 will precede the M200 … It’s been over a year since they started this discussion and has any progress been made? Options to the older Century systems that can interface with the newer Gar…[Read more]

The early Aero Commander 200D’s were essentially built by Meyers and have their original hydraulic aileron trim system. It’s complicated but Meyers built owners have solutions for maintaining them. Talk to Neslon Harding, Dave Smith or Ashley Wade about it. I’m sure they’ll have the answers you need.

Greg, it’s been many years since the last fly-in at the Grouleff airport. How about another one sometime soon!

We’re upgrading N200HS to an IO-550-F which also requires a prop upgrade. If anyone is interested in a used McCauley prop, please let me know. It has approximately 1069 hours on it.

TruTrack is almost ready to create the STC for our Meyers 200s! In order to gauge their popularity, they’ve asked me to inquire with all the owners to see how many people would be interested in buying an all-new digital autopilot for their plane.
The cost of the autopilot will be $5,000 and installation is said to take roughly 30 hours.

If you’re not getting expected True Airspeeds, you might consider rigging the flight controls and the flaps. That can have a huge impact on performance.

Hi Mark,
The only “modern” STC’d autopilot available for the Meyers 200 is the Century 2000. It’s not cheap and can be finicky at times. If you can hold out for a while, TruTrak should have an option for us. Likely available next year. It’s a true digital autopilot with all kinds of modern features. And, at only $5,000 it’s an amazing…[Read more]
