Hello Paul. sorry for the delayed response. Been busy selling my company. I use the AC Air Technology remote control tracked tug. Works on concrete or on grass. Coolest thing ever. We have multiple planes and it moves all of them with no adjustment and it’s actually fun to reshuffle the hangar. Can hands free grab the Meyers 200, stuff it…[Read more]

Steve Bauman replied to the topic Any info available for balancing control surfaces? in the forum Flight Controls – Meyers 200 3 years, 4 months ago

    Hi guys
The flight controls on the Meyers 200 do NOT need to be balanced when painted. They are controlled by push –pull rods. Aircraft that have control CABLES they are the ones that need to be balanced if painted.
    This from the FAA.

Also on ANOTHER change to the IO550-F engine is the 2 bladed prop on the IO520-A is 82 inches, the IO550-F engine requires a 2 bladed prop to be 84 inches.

Dean Siracusa replied to the topic Elevator trim control cable in the forum Flight Controls – Meyers 200 3 years, 6 months ago

Did the cable break or is it just bound up? If it’s bound up, the process is to remove it, hang it up from the ceiling and pour Kroil penetrating oil into it, until it’s leaking out the bottom. Let it stay there for several days before reinstalling.

Also, regular checking of the elevator trim prior to each flight will also help keep it unb…[Read more]

Dean Siracusa replied to the topic F&M Oil Filter adapter in the forum Engine – Meyers 200 3 years, 6 months ago

Yes, the Airwolf is mounted on the firewall. I’ve heard good things about it. My only concern is a hose failure would be catastrophic.

With regards to the F&M (now owned by Tempest), I used one on my IO-520 for years. The only time I had an issue is when a new mechanic would not understand the requirements.

First is that each time the a…[Read more]

Dean Siracusa replied to the topic IFR GPS in the forum Avionics – Meyers 200 3 years, 6 months ago

I’d definitely pick the Garmin over the King. The KLN 94 is old, clunky and slow compared to the newer Garmin 175.

Also, figure that any of these companies will likely only support their GPS products for 10 years or less after production ends. Production on the KLN 94 has been out of production for a while now, so the clock is ticking. And, t…[Read more]

Hello Ed. My plane came with an Air Wolf Oil Filter Adapter when I bought her. 7 years of trouble free / Leak free service. I later purchased an Air Wolf AOS and the folks there were very helpful.

Dean Siracusa replied to the topic *PAN PAN* Garmin GFC500 Available in Meyers 200! *PAN PAN* in the forum Avionics – Meyers 200 3 years, 8 months ago

The Meyers 200 does have electric trim available as an option when installing the Century autopilots such as the 2000. And, it’s been installed in the latest Garmin installation just last month.

Peter, your plane originally had the Brittain autopilot correct? The Century A/P is a very different installation since its servos are electric instead…[Read more]
