How old is the engine and has it been flying much recently? Oil analysis? I recommend Blackstone.

    Which Meyers 200 is this?

If this is a new issue, then yes, it might be a clogged injector. It is summer now so outside temperature does affect things like this too.

If any work was done on the engine (or an annual was just completed) you might also check the baffling. Even if none was replaced, sometimes they get moved backwords or torn. Silicon baffling should bend…[Read more]

Dean Siracusa replied to the topic Meyers 200 Gear Failure in the forum Airframe – Meyers 200 4 years, 3 months ago

Very sorry to hear about that.

There are tons of things I’ve learned over the years, from the late Keith Diver and other owners, that aren’t actually in the manual, or the maintenance manual. Not operating on flat struts is one of those items.

Once you learn how the gear works (and the importance of properly inflated struts to grab the inner…[Read more]

Dean Siracusa replied to the topic Doof seal in the forum Airframe – Meyers 200 4 years, 3 months ago

Bob Fields Door Seals company has been sold to a company in Texas and they’re back making these parts. https://aerocessories.aero/

Since our doors are somewhat unique, you’ll need a fabric tape measure to measure your door. Once you give them the dimensions they can create a seal for you.

The easiest way to install this seal is to remove the…[Read more]

    Hi Bailey,
Yes, it’s true, for many years the IO-550-F upgrade was indeed done with a 337 field approval. The -F model is actually very similar to the IO-520-A so there’s no changes to the airframe. Just new baffling needed.

Today, Lone Mountain Aviation as an STC for this upgrade: https://lonemountainaviation.com/ . Because of this, 337 field…[Read more]

Joseph, I do same as you and say ICAO Mike two zero zero. But I would NEVER say similar to a Bonanza! Almost as bad as saying similar to a Cirrus! Yuk!

On long cross countries switching service areas ATC does morph me into a Mooney as per Ed on occasion. I do take exception with THAT as well, but just motor on along and respond back with…[Read more]

Hello Chuck. The 145 is such a cool airplane. You need to send a note to Jamon Pruitt that is a member on the site. Jamon has a bunch of planes including a 145 and a 200. His 145 is listed for sale here on the site in the classifieds. I’ve seen her in person and she’s beautiful. Like most of us, Jamon is an aviation nut. Give him a call and…[Read more]
