Dean Siracusa replied to the topic Doof seal in the forum Airframe – Meyers 200 4 years, 4 months ago

Bob Fields Door Seals company has been sold to a company in Texas and they’re back making these parts. https://aerocessories.aero/

Since our doors are somewhat unique, you’ll need a fabric tape measure to measure your door. Once you give them the dimensions they can create a seal for you.

The easiest way to install this seal is to remove the…[Read more]

Dean Siracusa replied to the topic Io550 info in the forum Engine – Meyers 200 4 years, 4 months ago

    Hi Bailey,
Yes, it’s true, for many years the IO-550-F upgrade was indeed done with a 337 field approval. The -F model is actually very similar to the IO-520-A so there’s no changes to the airframe. Just new baffling needed.

Today, Lone Mountain Aviation as an STC for this upgrade: https://lonemountainaviation.com/ . Because of this, 337 field…[Read more]

If you can get near RDU area in NC I would be delighted to show you a C model. Mostly like a D except does not have flush riveted leading edge.

Ashley-you make good points. G5 and/or 275 upgrades would be a good thing. I redid my panel several years back but kept mostly legacy round gauges with a JPI 830 and GNS 430W as main nav/com with a Aera 660 as a panel mount MFD and KI155 as back up No 2. It’s amazing how much the legacy engine et al gauges take up on the right side of the…[Read more]

Thomas-you stated what I was thinking. The question is how much he would charge each of us for the STC. I will tell you that a $40K A/P install does not work for me. I would love the upgrade but at that number I will just keep my Century III in as good a condition as I can. And I get it that Stein is learning as he goes and that hopefully that…[Read more]

Chuck-a friend of mine just purchased a Micco and I had a chance to sit in the right seat. It was very roomy and felt very comfortable. I am 5’8″ and weigh 170.

Peter-thank you for the detailed feedback. So I am assuming SteinAir would do another install and run it through the FSDO again?

Peter, that is very encouraging and thank you for sharing. A few questions for you:

    1. Did you replace an existing A/P or was this a brand new installation?
    2. If the former, what did you replace?
    3. And if the former, did you reuse existing servos or go all new?
    4. Did you have to get an engineer involved on paperwork for submission to the…[Read more]

Kevin-welcome to the Meyers team! I do the vast majority of my flying solo. These are great 2 person plus a lot of luggage and full fuel airplanes. My useful load is about 900#. With fuel fuel, that leaves 420# for pilot and pax plus luggage. I weigh 170 and my wife 130 so we have 120# left to be legal. Alternatively, put 60 gallons of fuel…[Read more]
