Good news on the brakes/gear Thomas. I do not think the flaps should be different from one to the other, ie they should be symmetrical.

Erratum: My Meyers has differential braking! I was so used to non-differtial that I always pressed both!
Had the hydraulics of the gear overhauled! My mechanic was impressed how well and strong manufactured the cylinders and the whole system is.Does anybody know if the flaps have a different travel to compensate for engine torque? I thinks my…[Read more]

Mark-your comments are much appreciated. Our doors suck. I wish there was an approved PMA aftermarket to improve. I think Al and his team thought they were on to something but 50 years later they are not much that great.

Mark Jensen replied to the topic Source/specs for replacement fuel caps? in the forum Airframe – Meyers 200 5 years, 1 month ago
Mark, Sorry I didn’t see your question before. I have had to replace two caps because the rubber got old and stiff. My mechanic found replacement caps at McFarlane Aviation. He said he will get the part number when he gets back to town. The caps he found required two minor modifications. First, the metal plate on the top has a larger…[Read more]

Hi Brent,
Glad to hear your flight home went well. I am curious about Thomas’s comment on the brakes as my 200D does have differential braking.
The techniques for applying power and rudder for take off also apply to a touch and go. That seems like common sence but I had an early touch and go get my attention.
I reccomend a flapes 20…[Read more]

Welcome, Brent. I know your plane – it was one of three in the Phoenix metro. We fly high for cross country out here and the 200D can really make time on the descents. I’m often mistaken for a twin by unfamiliar ATC. My approach:landing habits are the same as Tom T. above. I have reliably flight planned for 200mph true. Fly the plane, but baby t…[Read more]

Bob-welcome to a great group with a special bird. Dean is ‘The Man’ the go to on all things 200 IMHO so you are in excellent hands.
The 200 was recently profiled in Aviation Consumer and for good (or bad), I was allowed to give my opinion. Mark’s comments are spot on. Most A&P’s/IA’s well versed in 1960’s retractables will find the 200 not…[Read more]

Hi Bob,
I have owned and enjoyed my Meyers since September 2001. The Meyers 200 is a great airplane. Unfortunately, I am dealing with the FAA on some special issuance issues. I still have my class three medical but at age 77 I have put my aircraft, N2983T, on the market.
Concerning your questions, take off and go around take some getting used…[Read more]

Hi Doug,
I have owned my 200D sence September 2001. They are great airplanes. They are especialy good for cross county flights with good speed and the capability for long legs. I usually fly at altitudes from 7 to 9,000 MSL. My opinion is that my Meyers is very stable, it can be easily trimed hands off, and it handles turbulence very well.…[Read more]

OMG, yes that’s so sad about the hurricanes. And sorry to hear of the Meyers’ damages. I’m sure there are many other more pressing and important issues there than our airplanes. Best of luck in recovering from that terrible weather onslaught.
Thanks though, for some information about the recent goings on. It is always fun and stimulating to…[Read more] -

Hi Doug. Definitely can save weight going to solid state/digital avionics stuff. I am looking into a full panel replacement and expect to save 10, maybe 15 pounds (=/-, depending on how much removed, includes of course removing the vacuum pump mess). People who’ve actually done this can give an actual account. I have the old BN autopilot…[Read more]

Hey-anyone out there that can fill Chris and the rest of us in?
Most frustrating. The Twin Cessna and Bonanza sites put us to shame.

Shop keeps telling us they need the STC for the three blade Mc Cauley prop. I cant find the number anywhere. Can anyone help Carl out and I out ?

I’ve been wondering about the recent Fly In at SEZ. There has been no follow up from the last update in June or July. In another post Ashley mentioned it and something about next year’s being in TX. We have been anxiously awaiting some details about it, wondering if other folks had any trouble or stories about getting there and what everyone…[Read more]

Welcome Doug!
As you may have noticed, we are passionate about our planes and enjoy the time we are able to put into preserving the fleet. Several have been upgraded to the IO-550, which is an amazing enhancement to the original design. Others have spent substantial resources on upgrading their avionics to make these fast cross country machines…[Read more]
