Hi Chris,
I haven’t had to send my Avidynes in for repair so can’t comment on that. I did have an issue I was able to fix in the plane and factory support for that was good. They have a pretty active and helpful forum as well.
FWIW, the Garmin 530w in my rv8 needs to go in and flat rate repair for that is $2300! Turn time is 2 or 3 weeks I…[Read more]

John-I was at OSH for a couple of days last week and looked for my 200 brethren, but did not dig too hard. Tell Ross hello. F 35’s and F 18’s were awesome!!
I own 196M, which is a 1964 C model. It has a IO 520 factory remain installed Jan 2017 with GAMI’s. I do not do a lot of long distance cross country so I rarely climb above 5K and…[Read more]

Hi Dennis, I recently flew a friend’s c310 with IFD540/440 and really liked them. They seem much more user friendly and so simple to operate. I was ready to jump on them when he had an issue and the avionics shop had to send his 540 back to FL somewhere. He waited many weeks for the repair and it was not inexpensive. SEA is a giant aviation…[Read more]

I believe it’s basically a Model A Ford emergency brake, so you may try researching that.
Also, make sure you have the shoes pinned on the correct end. If you pin the front as the wheel rolls when you apply brake it tend to will drive the brake into the drum. I had this problem after a brake job and changing the pin location fixed it.

So assume he has bled the lines and checked the actuators and the brake pads and rotor? He might need to get it on jacks if he has not.

Does anyone know where I could find information on adjusting manual brakes? The right will suddenly grab when pressure is applied. The left smoothly grabs as pressure is applied. My mechanic has “adjusted” them but there is no improvement.
Thank you
