John-I was at OSH for a couple of days last week and looked for my 200 brethren, but did not dig too hard. Tell Ross hello. F 35’s and F 18’s were awesome!!

I own 196M, which is a 1964 C model. It has a IO 520 factory remain installed Jan 2017 with GAMI’s. I do not do a lot of long distance cross country so I rarely climb above 5K and…[Read more]

So assume he has bled the lines and checked the actuators and the brake pads and rotor? He might need to get it on jacks if he has not.

These are the original brakes not hydraulic. I have tried to keep the plane as original as possible.

Thomas-my F&M continues to leak and now the SB has turned into an AD. I am going to take one more shot at securing it and if it still leaks-probably go to an Airwolf.

Ed Pulliam replied to the topic F&M Oil Filter adapter in the forum Engine – Meyers 200 3 years, 3 months ago

Joseph-exactly what happened to me. Should have left it alone as it was not leaking before we replaced the 2 gaskets.

I am going to try one more time and see what happens. And on to AW most likely if it leaks.

I have a SideWinder and it has worked well. I think a golf cart with appropriate hardware is the ticket.

Thanks for sending the SB Dean. We had seen it before and reinstalled per the instructions. I need to make sure we are using the correct crush washers though. And we had torqued to 65 ft lbs as well. Will try again!

Paul, one of our members has been selling a replacement that is more secure and easier to read. Let me see if I can find the paperwork.

Stephen-Great to hear of your interest. Reach out to Dean Siracusa. He is the go-to and will know what planes might be available. Our owners are getting older and finding one off market may be the ticket.

I have one on my IO-520 that we just cannot seem to stop a leak. We are doing what the SB calls for on copper gaskets and torque and it is still leaking. Anybody using an AirWolf or is there another approved adapter?

Joseph-the type certificate was purchased by Global Parts Group. I am recalling an exploded nose gear schematic that might have a parts listing. The seals and O rings are stock materials. The metal parts themselves are probably not available. We have some members that might have access to certain parts. You might describe what you need in…[Read more]

Ed Pulliam replied to the topic Short Field Performance in the forum General- Meyers 200 3 years, 8 months ago

Ed, there is no offset in the engine mount or a trim tab on the rudder to deal with significant P-factor when you rotate with a 520 or 550. You have to somewhat snatch it into ground effect and throw in a lot of right rudder as you keep it aligned with the runway as you retract gear and take off flaps. A lot happening in a short amount of time.…[Read more]
