Hey-anyone out there that can fill Chris and the rest of us in?
Most frustrating. The Twin Cessna and Bonanza sites put us to shame.

Friends-I am using Foreflight on a Mini and am curious as to what you are doing for a mount, either panel, glareshield or yoke and what folks believe is the best solution. Would appreciate you posting any pictures as well.

Hey Doug-welcome! These are unique and delightful airplanes and there is a wealth of knowledge on this site from folks who have a lot more left seat time than I.
You might try Essco and see what they have in AFM’s (if you can call them that). As you might imagine, the info is pretty sparse and before the FAA mandated more in depth…[Read more]

Great Brent! Greg’s advice is another tidbit as it makes sense to pressurize the system before you drop the gear. Yes, replace to LED ASAP. When I redid my panel in 2017 we moved lights to over the gear handle. Much more logical now.
Your 10 hours of CC will pay dividends in the future. Spending the next 5 hours close to home on air work and…[Read more]

Chris and Thomas-thanks for add-ons to the ones I missed! Trust you all are well and getting some flying in. Thomas is definitely right-it takes a tug to her into ground effect. And lots of right rudder for sure. As Chris said, ease the throttle in and get the sense of how much rudder you need to keep her straight is the way to do…[Read more]

Congrats Brent. They are great airplanes. Things to look for:
-Trim, as you noted. I rarely adjust mine. Once you find the sweet-spot, you don’t need to do much.
-Fuel management. 4 independent 20 gallon tanks and a directive to use the main (inboards) for TO and L.
-Sink rate. It will get your attention if you let airspeed get below 90 MPH…[Read more] -

Mark-I had the same issue several years back. My mechanic sourced alternative caps and used the rubber and replaced on the old caps.

Ed Pulliam replied to the topic landing gear placards/decals in the forum Landing Gear – Meyers 200 3 years, 10 months ago
One thing my mechanic did 3 years ago when I had a FWF done (including nose gear) was to mark on the trunion and nose gear the limits in red lines so as to know what the maximum turn was with the nose gear in a ground based device (ie, not jacked up)

Mark-I think you are correct. Only one I think is required is the trim warning on the panel? Perhaps one of our A&P/IA brothers (or sisters) will comment.

Mark and Hans-nice to hear from both of you. Mark-thank you for the tidbits. Very helpful. I just need o practice more IFR procedures, even if I do VFR.
Hans-I remember our flight well and I had heard that you went to the fly-in. I too wonder what the outcome will be on gatherings, large and small, until a vaccine comes along.
I just landed…[Read more]

Hello Thomas from NC, USA. Bob Fields was a standard ‘go to’ as I understand it at one time but there are a lot of stories the last few years of non-performance so I would go into any transaction eyes wide open and credit card only. I have heard feedback is spotty and follow through is all but non existent.
Certainly I hope others have recent,…[Read more]

Tom-great info and thank you! Great stuff for me to work on next time I am out there. I flew safety pilot on Wed in a SR 22-my first Cirrus ride. Amazing how different from our old gals.
Andy-did you purchase Flip Comer’s 200?
And in the trim indicator-you are correct, it does not move much. As you are finding out, a slight twist of trim in…[Read more]

Ed,
Try entering the pattern, or doing closed patterns by reducing power to 15” MP once you’ve reached your downwind altitude (should be ~120 mph), then at midfield put the gear down, which should slow you to about 100 mph, then add 20 flaps abeam your touchdown point and reduce power to just above idle. This may get you the parameters I men…[Read more]
