Ashley,
I am of the Betzoldt clan, just sometimes keep that on the down low… LOL. I will give Cassidy a ring and see what he has to say. Being in the corporate aviation industry, the insurance game is such a joke (cartel) when it comes to what they are charging. Appreciate the info and I will let my grandpa know you say hello! He just sold his…[Read more]

Andy, I didn’t realize that you were of the Betzoldt lineage. I was already happy to see you in Flip’s plane, but now I’m even more excited that Meyers is embedded into your DNA so deeply. Can’t wait to meet you. Tell Fred that Karen and Ashley say hello.
When I started out in the 200 I had less total time and 200 time than you do now. My…[Read more]

Hi TC,
Thanks for the info! On the fiberglass seat buckets – can I use those and just redo the original Meyers seats? I think this will be necessary purchase either way.

Andy,
I’ve installed a set of the bonanza seats in N929DM as well in N2992T. They are great upgrade in my opinion. My customer also has some of the fiberglass seat buckets as well!! Let me know if i can help!!TC Gromer

Thank you for that info! I appreciate the feedback.

Andy-several of the guys have replaced the front seats via a 337 with Bonanza seats and a custom mount. I did my interior in 2012 using the old seats and wish I had waited. The Bo seats are more conformable, take up less room and are easier to get in and out at inspection time, etc. I also think a 337 for the back seats should be attainable as…[Read more]

Good morning all,
Getting some options together for refurbishing the interior in N430DP this winter. I had heard that someone possibly created a new fiberglass seat bucket? Can anyone steer me to whom I would chat with regarding some more contemporary/modern options that are approved on the 200? Appreciate the feedback.

Hi Joel!
I will be out and about your way sometime in early 2021 visiting customers and would be happy to meet you at the airport somewhere. I have a B model, N430DP that I use for business travel.

Joel-great post and you are thinking correctly! A 200 is a perfect 2 person cross country machine.
I am a little over an hour south of you at KLHZ in NC and own a C model. I would be happy to let us connect and let you see one up close. Let me know and I can PM you.

Hi Ed!
I hope you had a great holiday as well. Thank you for the information; I kind of figured I’d have to bite the bullet for this next year before getting some relief…. That being said, I am planning to knock out my instrument this spring. I’m lucky to only have the 200 available for flying! Lots of takeoffs and landings so far.

Andy-HTG to you and yours. As you might have read, the GA insurance business is in the ditch right now and the underwriters are calling the shots. When I bought my 200 in 2009 I had 1200 TT and a complex sign off to come get 196M. I had to do 5 hours of dual with the owner (an ATP) and then 10 hours of solo before carrying passengers. No way…[Read more]

Hello everyone!
I hope you all are healthy and staying sane. Wanted to reach out and see if anyone has suggestions regarding insurance on the 200. My grandfather, Fred Betzoldt was on the insurance for our first year with N430DP as I built time in the make/model. I was just quoted $5,000 for next year with just myself on the insurance… I’m low…[Read more]

Good news on the brakes/gear Thomas. I do not think the flaps should be different from one to the other, ie they should be symmetrical.

Erratum: My Meyers has differential braking! I was so used to non-differtial that I always pressed both!
Had the hydraulics of the gear overhauled! My mechanic was impressed how well and strong manufactured the cylinders and the whole system is.Does anybody know if the flaps have a different travel to compensate for engine torque? I thinks my…[Read more]

Mark-your comments are much appreciated. Our doors suck. I wish there was an approved PMA aftermarket to improve. I think Al and his team thought they were on to something but 50 years later they are not much that great.

Mark Jensen replied to the topic Source/specs for replacement fuel caps? in the forum Airframe – Meyers 200 5 years, 3 months ago
Mark, Sorry I didn’t see your question before. I have had to replace two caps because the rubber got old and stiff. My mechanic found replacement caps at McFarlane Aviation. He said he will get the part number when he gets back to town. The caps he found required two minor modifications. First, the metal plate on the top has a larger…[Read more]

Hi Brent,
Glad to hear your flight home went well. I am curious about Thomas’s comment on the brakes as my 200D does have differential braking.
The techniques for applying power and rudder for take off also apply to a touch and go. That seems like common sence but I had an early touch and go get my attention.
I reccomend a flapes 20…[Read more]
