Hi guys haven’t checked in but following the line the 145 is a bit tight I’m 5’11” and have just enough room to clear a headset My bird is 210hp which is really the best the bird is pretty heavy for a 2 seater grossing out at 2200lbs the useful load is not a problem i have 4 tanks 2 16gal mains and 2 8.5 gal auxs and can carry 2 200lbs…[Read more]

Working very hard to get the 145 ready for oshkosh It was invited to the 50th anniversary of the first flyin at wittman field , it was a showplane 50 years ago so will be parking in the brown arch area for the week come on by see me.

We used to race each other at Fly-Ins. The late Doc Morgan usually won the “Scenic Route” award, in our long x-country (not pylon) races. For the benefit of the FAA and the insurance companies, we called them “proficiency exercises.” The most proficient pilot crossed the finish line first. @rgomoll Roger, I would advise the 5 gal. at a time method, since they’re all a little different, at least the Meyers ships. I got a 12” length of 1/2” balsa wood, added a firmly attached lanyard, and with a Sharpee labeled one face “M” (main) and the opposite face “A” (aux). @goud9yahoo-com Doug, years ago when I owned #89, I went to a good local machinist with the worn-out part, and had one made. Short of that, try Mike Barg.
