Hi Ashley, I’m with Ed, what is that gonna set you back? I would love to get a GFC500. Heard nothing but extreme happiness from users. Where is Stein and is Stein the only folks that could do 337 field approval? If someone did it, can another region get away with it without copying their installation process exactly? Definitely an exciting…[Read more]

Sounds like a good possibility to me. I would certainly be game. I am still in the market to upgrade my whole panel as well. Should have done it already, but had a severe six-figure water damage issue in my condo and needed to stand back for a while. We’re starting to recover from that and should get onto this avionics upgrade situation again…[Read more]

Hello Thomas. There are so few of us that I doubt that anyone will do an STC, but the 337 process is moving along nicely after Peter. 2 more 200’s are currently being upgraded at Stein Air as I type. I am in line right behind them and hope to have her back with a shiny new GFC500 and twin GI275s for Christmas.

I sold 2983T in June but still plan to drive to the Fly In at Fredricksburg. I plan to bring a few rare 200 parts for the auction. They include two landing light lenses, a pair of door hinges, and a set of landing gear torque links. The money from these parts will go to the Meyers Aircraft owners association.

Gary,
The high pressure seal double seal I mentioned above is actually called an O-ring loaded U-cup seal. It is a harder rubber up with a softer O-ring inserted to push the cup against the shaft. The McMaster part number is 9505K15. I believe this is the seal that was in my flap selector and gear valves, but the harder rubber cup was…[Read more]

Gary,
I am currently on vacation and won’t be at my hangar until Labor Day weekend. I sent Robert Whitfield a complete set of seals, so he should have the part numbers. All are common O-rings available thru Aircraft Spruce, except the internal gear handle valve and flap selector valve. I found a compatible seal at McMaster Carr that is working f…[Read more] -

Some other owners contacted me and said my response was not as friendly as it should have been. My apologies.
Which airplane on the For Sale site is sold?

Which one are you saying that’s from 2019 and isn’t currently owned by them anymore?
The listings are only as good as the people posting them. If the owner doesn’t let us know that it’s sold, it’ll just remain there.
Remember, this isn’t some big fancy company with many employees. It’s a small group of owners of a very small population of aircraft.

Jim Jones and Mike Barg at the Meyers OTW repair Center in South Carolina can help. You can reach them on the site by searching in the members directory. We’ll all be at the fly in next month in Fredericksburg, TX next month and that would be your very best bet. There are 5 OTWs in planned attendance. As long as your Kinner parts don’t have…[Read more]

Ed,
I’ve been told they may be rechromed without creating any issues. Please contact Ross Warner to see about finding new old stock parts. He may be able to point you to someone who knows where to find them if you decide to go that route.

Tom Thibodeau replied to the topic Meyers 200 Gear Failure in the forum Airframe – Meyers 200 4 years, 5 months ago
Ray,
So very happy to hear the damage was minimal given your scenario. Thank you for the additional information. I’m guessing the strut extended slightly once the gear was in the well to force the tire against the bail and cause it to bind. A very unusual situation to be certain.
You did an excellent 2 wheel landing and had a great outcome.…[Read more]

Sorry to hear about your gear problem. My partner and I had a nose gear up landing which I also attributed to a problem with the strut. We bought the aircraft after an estate settlement and then had it down for about a year replacing the interior and glass. Because it sat for (?) years, it was difficult to service the strut to the proper…[Read more]

Hello Dean, I am in fort lauderdale with Carl Richards who owns ac serial # 379 or N200D. The ac experienced a sudden stoppage in Burly, Id. last Aug. since then since then the mechanic (The Flight Doctor) says he cannot put the three bladed propeller back on the speed mod nose due to their being no STC or legal Form 337 on record. We have a 337…[Read more]
