I would fly with the F33 guy and watch his technique. Meyers has less wing area (at least I think it does), but engine and airframe configuration are very similar. For sure see his weight limitations. At gross the Meyers will sink unless you have power in and the flare happens quickly.

Ed, a very good ask. What are your typical winds and how is the turf? My experience (and there are many folks here with much more than mine) is that short field can be tricky as you almost have to get behind the power curve to drop a 200 in. Full flaps and 90 MPH means a fair amount of power as you come down to short final to keep the sink rate…[Read more]

Gregg-Dean Siracusa has a 3 blade on his 200D. Not sure if same as your specs.

Finally received a legitimate sign off from the FAA for the three bladed prop on Carl Richards N200D after six months of digging through the paperwork had to add a flight manual supplement for the IO 520A and nose bowl conversion, but the Form337 with field approval is complete. My research showed that way back when his conversion was done the…[Read more]

Ed Pulliam started the topic Seats in the forum Interiors – Meyers 200 4 years, 6 months ago
All-I bit the bullet and replaced the seats in 196M as I know Nelson and Dan have done. I went further though and also replaced the back seats. My A&P took it to the next level and hired a DER to write the report and submit to Oklahoma City. The DER report basically is a STC that is unique to 196M. I found a set of Bonanza seats and hardware…[Read more]

Gents, 196M just came out of annual after being AOG for over 3 months. It started with an oil leak that was getting worse and I finally grounded her in late June as the annual was due as of July 1. Dean S. and I have been e-mailing back and forth but I thought I would share the experience to the wider group. I also replaced the seats and will…[Read more]

Jim Jones replied to the topic Aiecraft rigging in the forum General – Meyers OTW 4 years, 6 months ago
Jeff, glad to hear the Restoration is complete. If the rigging was done according to the manual, that is, it has the correct dihedral in the upper wing and all the control surfaces are set per the manual the only thing left is to make sure all wires are properly tightened and go fly it to see how it worked out. May need to adjust the trailing edge…[Read more]

I sold 2983T in June but still plan to drive to the Fly In at Fredricksburg. I plan to bring a few rare 200 parts for the auction. They include two landing light lenses, a pair of door hinges, and a set of landing gear torque links. The money from these parts will go to the Meyers Aircraft owners association.

Steve-have you looked for a Micco? Might be easier to find than a 145. I know of one here in NC.

Gary,
The high pressure seal double seal I mentioned above is actually called an O-ring loaded U-cup seal. It is a harder rubber up with a softer O-ring inserted to push the cup against the shaft. The McMaster part number is 9505K15. I believe this is the seal that was in my flap selector and gear valves, but the harder rubber cup was…[Read more]

Gary,
I am currently on vacation and won’t be at my hangar until Labor Day weekend. I sent Robert Whitfield a complete set of seals, so he should have the part numbers. All are common O-rings available thru Aircraft Spruce, except the internal gear handle valve and flap selector valve. I found a compatible seal at McMaster Carr that is working f…[Read more] -

Gary-my step spit the bit again last year when it was in annual! If your A&P is pretty resourceful, I suggest you pull the step and get into the guts and look at the O rings. They are all in stock, you just need to make sure you source the right diameter. It might take some trial and error as I found out last year getting in his way…

Ted-I agree with you assessment on price but as an owner I hope he gets it or close thereto! Pricing is crazy right now. I am seeing early 70’s Skylanes with 8K+ hours airframe selling for $150k PLUS!!

Which airplane on the For Sale site is sold?

Dean Siracusa replied to the topic Currency of sale listings? in the forum Airframe – Meyers 200 4 years, 7 months ago
Which one are you saying that’s from 2019 and isn’t currently owned by them anymore?
The listings are only as good as the people posting them. If the owner doesn’t let us know that it’s sold, it’ll just remain there.
Remember, this isn’t some big fancy company with many employees. It’s a small group of owners of a very small population of aircraft.
