Hello Thomas from NC, USA. Bob Fields was a standard ‘go to’ as I understand it at one time but there are a lot of stories the last few years of non-performance so I would go into any transaction eyes wide open and credit card only. Tom-great info and thank you! Great stuff for me to work on next time I am out there. I flew safety pilot on Wed in a SR 22-my first Cirrus ride. Amazing how different from our old gals.

  Try entering the pattern, or doing closed patterns by reducing power to 15” MP once you’ve reached your downwind altitude (should be ~120 mph), then at midfield put the gear down, which should slow you to about 100 mph, then add 20 flaps abeam your touchdown point and reduce power to just above idle. Folks, I continue to be disappointed in the lack of participation among us as 200 owners. There are less than 100 of us with these gems and I see stuff posted with little response or feedback. I track the Twin Cessna and Beech Talk folks and they are very engaged. How do we change this??

I posted back in January that my 180 hours SFREMAN IO-520 was running poorly and cutting off at idle. After messing with re-setting pressures, my A&P/IA pulled the fuel pump and sent it off. It wouldn’t be difficult to install them. There’s a steel hoop that goes over you, right in between the two side windows. You’d just have to cut into your roof liner.

Great commentary Ashley. I think one of the reasons why my A&P was successful first time (watch-now I will jinx myself) is he was a BIG go-to Bonanza guy here in NC. I am sure that probably factored in.

The ones that I know about all seemed to have the original cap cut down and re-glassed.

I reached out to Joan and asked her if she had any rudder caps to replace the strobes if they were removed and she did not. Any idea on how to get one fabricated? I know I saw a couple at the 13 fly in in Tecumseh. I bet a number of folks would be interested in a cap if we would get them fabricated.
