The 2021 Fly-in for Fredericksburg is only two weeks away!  Arrivals will begin Wednesday, September 22 at Gillespie County Airport (T82).  We currently have over 40 members that have stated their intentions to attend!  With such a great response, our host hotel–the Hangar Hotel is currently sold out.  Since we don’t want to miss seeing anyone who wishes to attend, the Hangar Hotel has recommended the Inn on Barons Creek (www.innonbaronscreek.com) as an alternative location.  A few of our members have also booked rooms at the Comfort Inn & Suites Fredericksburg (www.choicehotels.com).  Airbnb is also another source for cabins and vacation rentals in the Fredericksburg area.  Plan your favorite activities during your stay by visiting: www.visitfredericksburgtx.com.  Please note that some museums and parks are currently requiring reservations to limit capacity so, plan accordingly.

Our preliminary schedule will be as follows:

Wednesday, September 22, 2021

Arrivals at T82 all day.  Ask to park your plane in front of the Hangar Hotel.  This parking will be on a first come, first serve basis.  The airport has offered us fuel with full service at the self service price.  Check in for our members will be in the lobby of the Hangar Hotel.  Look for the Meyers Aircraft Owners table.

One of the local attractions we will be visiting is the National Museum of the Pacific War (www.pacificwarmuseum.org).  We are in the process of making group reservations and will need to know in advance how many members are planning to attend.  The cost per ticket for our group will be $10/person.  Please RSVP to Karen Wade at 337-526-9632 via phone or text if you want to attend.  The Enchanted Rock State Natural Area is also another option for those who wish to explore the beautiful scenery, rock formations, and hike, picnic, or stargaze.  Reservations are required to visit the park and can be made in advance online at www.tpwd.texas.gov or by calling (512)389-8900.
