Rocky-is there a link for this bird? I would love to at least check it out. Is it an estate auction?

We adjusted low Pitch stop to maximum but no RPM rise. The linkage itself is quite simple to a adjust, but that is not the problem. I will measure the low pitch angle to check for a wear of the propeller. Last overhaul was 2009 and last maintenance was 2020, lubricaction of the hub.

A month before my Mitchell tach showed a malfunction, an…[Read more]

I have the same problem, but my A&P thinks it is related to the linkage to the governor. Like it is not long enough to get that extra 100 RPM and will need some modification. I am going to address over the winter.

    Thomas,

I was having the same issue with N430DP this summer. I had it removed and sent to the prop shop for bench testing and had the springs replaced. They ran it for 2 hours on the bench with no issues, but I’m still only reaching 2600 RPM on takeoff.

Well, that was not my intent, but glad you did not spend money on something that was not approved.

I saw the note on your exhaust valve. That’s THE reason for borescopes.

    Howdy from Germany,
the last annual reveiled a bad looking exhaust valve on No.3 and the guide had some blowby. Reason was a malfunctioning rotator.
My engine is am Continental remanufacture from 1993 with about 550 hours on it.
There seems to be a problem with this rotators and I suggest that you have a good look at yours valves, especcially if…[Read more]

Hi Ed, do you see the hole in my foot? I almost shot me one…
No STC for our airplanes and no EASA Approval either. I will have to have him overhauled.

Thanks for pointing my nose to this minor bureaucratic problem…

    Thomas.

Thomas-that looks like a good solution to deal with the older ones we have as they go bad. Any idea how the STC would work?

    Best-

    Hi fellow Meyers owners,

My propeller governor is defect. I just get 2550 rpm on static or dynamic take off.

All the other performance data are okay.

I found as an alternative to overhauling the governor is to put a new PCU5000 on the engine.

    Any recommendations from y’all?

Thanks and a have great day,

    Thomas

John – I typically climb at around 800-1,000 FPM and 120mph on a summer day in Michigan. I plan on burning 22-24gph during my climb. I use N430DP for mostly cross-country flights. When in a cruise around the 7,500-10,500 altitude range I usually average and plan for 200mph with a fuel burn of 14-15gph. The plane has the IO525 engine with Gami…[Read more]

    John,
So sorry to see this. Your guardianship of that aircraft, during your tenure, was extraordinary. I always see N489C in my minds eye when I think of the story of the 200. So thankful no one was hurt. Such a tough situation. I have always seen that aircraft as the flag bearer for the 200 series.

The Meyers design, once again provided safe…[Read more]

John-I was at OSH for a couple of days last week and looked for my 200 brethren, but did not dig too hard. Tell Ross hello. F 35’s and F 18’s were awesome!!

I own 196M, which is a 1964 C model. It has a IO 520 factory remain installed Jan 2017 with GAMI’s. I do not do a lot of long distance cross country so I rarely climb above 5K and…[Read more]
